We had a family outing to see The King’s Men singing on the River Cam next to King’s College Chapel, Cambridge. King’s Men are the choral scholars of King’s College i.e. the Chapel choir without the young boy choristers. Although the location was superb, it was definitely the case that this event in my mind (listening to unaccompanied voices) was far better than the reality (listening to the singers via an awful PA system). At least, the weather was lovely! In future, I will stick to attending services and concerts in the Chapel of King’s College where you can hear beautiful singing directly without poor amplification.
